Outage Management System

Our advanced Fault Passage Indicators (FPIs) provide real-time fault detection, seamless communication with control centers, and rapid response capabilities to minimize outage times and enhance grid reliability.

Advanced Fault Passage Indicator

The Fault Passage Indicator (FPI) is an automatic device designed for installation on overhead distribution lines to monitor current and voltage parameters, detect faults, and reduce outage times. It can be mounted under live conditions using an adapter and a hot stick. Faults are indicated by six flashing LEDs in a concentrated vertebral body for enhanced visibility.

The FPI sends fault messages to the Control Centre, which then alerts the service team. It distinguishes between permanent and temporary faults and can be integrated with auto-reclosers in the network for optimized fault indication. The device measures the true virtual value of current with a 12-bit ADC, and its bidirectional RF module allows real-time current transmission. Trip current settings and reset times can be configured remotely without dismounting the FPI. A magnetic switch is used to check the operational mode and reset the device. The data collection unit can store up to 100 local events.

Features: Non Communicable Fault Passage Indicator

  • Real Time Detection: Real time on line monitoring of fault information.
    • Transient(Temporary Faults)
    • Permanent Fault
    • Earth Fault
  • Fault Indication Mode: Short-circuit fault and single-phase earthed fault can be detected and indicated by three ultra-bright blinking LEDs, which can be seen from 360º sight.
  • Automatic Reset: After the fault is attended and power is restored, fault indicator will reset automatically. Reset time can be selected by the customer based on the line environment, line inspection length and department requirements.
  • Long Life: FPI-Monitor Shell is made of ABS material, poured and sealed with epoxy resin. DCU-Life > 10 years
  • Easy installation: FPI- Clip-on type, easy installation and removal with the help of hot stick. Does not affect the running line. DCU-Installed on pole with mounting bracket and hoop.

Communicable Fault Passage Indicator

  • Indication of Short Fault Alarm: The short sensors measure short fault current, when a short fault occurred, the current measured by the sensors exceeded the setting current, then the sensors would send the signals to the mainframe via the optical fibers, the mainframe would give the relatively alarm information.
  • Indication of Earth Fault Alarm: The earth fault sensor measures zero sequence current, when an earth fault occurred, the current measured by the sensor exceeded the setting current.
  • Low-Voltage Alarm: The mainframe is battery-powered. When the battery voltage is lower than normal voltage, there is an alarm to remind operator to change the battery.
  • Automatic Reset: When the indicator gave alarms, it can reset itself after a setting time if there is no manually reset.
  • Manually Reset: When the indicator gave alarms, if the “reset/test” button on the panel is pushed and kept for 2 sec, the alarm would be cleared up.
  • Automatic: When the indicator gave alarms, it would send out remote signal via relays, and also, it can receive remote signal to reset itself.
  • Test: The indicator can be checked by itself.
